Remembering Wreath & Garland Magic…
The circle is the most basic shape in Sacred Geometry. It is a 2-dimensional representation of the 3-dimensional sphere, which is the simplest and most perfect of forms. In both, there is no point of view given greater or lesser importance. All points are equally accessible and equidistant from their center point, from which all the points originate. Atoms, cells, seeds, planets, and globular star systems mirror the shape of total inclusion. Like a drop of water removed from the body of water, its spherical shape includes its acceptance of itself, simultaneous potential and fruition.
On a more abstract scale, the shape is a paradigm of As within, So without, and the One and the Many. This is the one Universe which includes all things in its oneness. All other shapes and symbols reflect the various and profound aspects in the consummate perfection of its curvature. Our complete scope of perspective, feelings and intuition, and community are expressed within this shape alone.
The point in the center of the ring or ball is infinitesimal. It has no dimension yet includes all dimensions. This point of consciousness is the awareness which transcends the illusions of time and space. This dot is our here and now. The dot (bindu) represents the Sun, the masculine sun gods (Ra, Helios, Apollo, etc.), gold, loyalty, the creative spark, and the heart. The circle represents the ring as an ancient and universal symbol of unity, wholeness, infinity, the goddess and female power.
The round shape of a circle is created from the arcs, as the Full Moon is brought to completion as a full circle. This includes all the stage of the feminine: beginning, maturity, and conclusion. The Sun, on the other hand, is the masculine directive of purpose, power, and will. It too has its cycles with morning, noon, and evening. Each is in a constant cycle of becoming the other.
The Tree of Life mirrors As Above, So Below, the masculine and feminine, the black and white of all duality. Each begins as a seed within the heart of the other, then becomes the other, and the cycle begins again. The energy circles back around.
Spirals are curves which start from a point, moving farther away as it revolves around the point, thus expanding its circumference with each turn. All of life begins as a dot within a circle and then spirals out as it grows, repeating life patterns as fractals. Each iteration of itself is created to be a tiny bit larger, further out along the arc as it moves away from its center point of consciousness.
When you create a circle, whether it is a magic circle on the ground or a circular wreath for your door, YOU, as its creator, are its point of consciousness. You give life to that sacred shape by your own intention and design. It is created in your likeness, as you are created in your Creator’s likeness. You give it a bit of your life energy, and, in time, that energy must return to you.
The triple spiral moves around the central point of consciousness, with connection to the material body, the soul or consciousness, and the masculine directive force. All things that are have these three elements.
